You can just call me velvet. I encountered this when i was about 15 years old, Something i won’t forget until the day i die. It all started at a farmhouse i lived in with my grandparents,
The house was nice, two story, a huge golden wheat field surrounding it, and beyond that was a large forest. There were fenced in areas, to keep animals such as coyotes out which started at the field.
Anyways, I never really liked being there at night, i had always felt watched where i slept, the top bedroom, above the love kitchen, there was a blind-less window where the moon shined on me as i slept every night. On one of these nights, i was awoken in the night by a nauseated feeling in my stomach, i ran to the bathroom with the urge to vomit, but i never did.
When i got back to my room the feeling was gone, but what i seen standing outside my window just out of the field, Terrified me.
It was tall, skinny, and it looked to have antlers, and soon enough i realised that it had a deer’s head, the moon was bright enough, as i stared at i couldn’t move, i felt like its gaze had me frozen. Finally, i blinked, and when i opened my eyes it was gone.
I never got much sleep that night. The next day i told my grandfather about what i had seen. I don’t know if he believed me, but the look on his told me, he did not feel right about what i had told him. Later that month, i was out in the field.
I had forgotten about the creature, I was in the field to relieve some stress, I eventually reached the edge of the forest. I sat down and just rested, accidently falling asleep. Later, i woke up in the same spot, i didn’t know what time it was, but the moon was full again.
I got up and began to walk back home, when i did walk, i could hear footsteps. They sounded like another person was following me, they were heavy though and sounded like that of a horse. I looked over, and when i did, i instantly regretted ever laying down in that field. That damn thing was following me, it was about 12 feet away from me, i froze, and so did it.This creature smelled of rot, its fur…or what it had left of it, appeared to be rotting.
I was terrified, I knew i had to get away somehow. Because this thing looked like it wanted to hurt me. As we stared at each other for what felt an hour or so, I bolted, i had never felt the need to run so fast. I made it to my doorstep and ran inside, I was terrified. Luckily, it had not chased me. I fear if it had, it would’ve caught me. I am 34 years old now, i hope i never, ever see it again.
Thank you for listening to my story, take it as a warning the next time you see a large rack of antlers roaming through a bush, it may just be the wendigo.
