This story takes place up in Panguitch lake, up far in the woods where my dad and I have our own family cabin. A little background, originally i’m from Vegas and around the time during the spring break of 2014 we went up to our family cabin for a fishing trip. It was for the whole weekend, so my dad said I could invite a friend, so I decided to invite my good friend Hunter. It was an early Monday morning when we set out to leave for the cabin. In all it was about a 7 hour drive to the cabin, I slept for most of the car ride there.
By the time we reached the cabin nightfall struck. Hunter and I got out of the car and, grabbed our bags to take inside. We were so tired that we just dropped our bags and crashed on the couch. My dad of course took his bags into the first room of the cabin and slept on the bed. The next morning, Hunter woke me up and asked me to go explore the woods with him since he had never been here before, and he loved exploring. So being annoying as he was I finally said “OK”
We started our journey into the woods, as we quietly stepped out the cabin door. The door creaked, and I was hoping not to wake my dad up. So we set off, and started walking through the woods. The whole cabin was surrounded by trees, the treeline began about 5 meters away from the cabin. As we were walking we were about 20 minutes down the treeline when Hunter said “Dude I gotta pee give me a sec”, “I said really! Right now?!” As things were starting to get kind of sketchy as the forest seemed silent. “OK! Make it fast!” I replied. Hunter went off behind a tree and as he did that I started to whistle one of my favorite tunes. Then all of a sudden I heard a twig snap directly in front of me where I was facing. At first I was really confused wondering what it could be, I didn’t really think much of it, just thinking it could have been some kind of animal or the twig fell off the tree.

So what i’m about to tell you happened 2 weeks ago. So I was going on a trip to my grandparents place witch is about a 1 hour drive. The road leads through a huge forest nearly 45 minutes of the drive there. so I was leaving with my parents a 6 p.m and it was almost night.
So through the hole drive it was going to be night we asoumed.
So half an hour went by and it was pitch black outside and only our car’s headlights and the moons light were giving all the light we had.

I believe I have seen or several wendigos. I’m seventeen at the time of this writing. I live in Montana now, but my first experience was when I lived in Colorado.
Around my house in Frisco (Colorado), there was about an acre of woods. Before the cul-de-sac I lived on began to be developed the woods were mostly lodgepole pine. I was outside during summer, and I was around 10. I don’t have a good memory, so I don’t recall my age exactly.
What I heard that day, however, I will never forget.

This story was inspired by our scary experience in Algonquin Park, Canada, where we got stuck on a road called Lac Wendigo.
My family and I were camping up North for some time. But sadly after 6 days we had to leave.
It was early in the morning when we left, about 8:00.
I was with 3 people. My mother Cindy, and my 2 cousins Sheryl and Samatha.
As we were driving, my mother, being the outdoorsy type, wanted Sheryl to drive through her favourite place, Algonquin Provincial Park.

I was about 12 years old at the time of this story, and I still don’t fully understand what happened to us.
When I was in grade 6 I met a kid named Brodie. We were into the same games and he was already friends with my best friend masen. So after we talked for a few weeks at school and hug out during lunch he started inviting us over on the weekends to play playstation 2 and watch movies. We started hanging out all the time and we were introduced to his friends from town.
Let me go back a bit and just say we were from a rural community outside if a decent sized town with about 50 thousand people in northeastern Ontario Canada, we went to public school with around 80 or 90 kids and the kids from the city went to a catholic school with more than 150 kids which blew our minds at the time.
We would all play manhunt in the woods and field near Brodie’s house (for those who don’t know manhunt is what we call hide and seek tag or army tag), his property was great for this because he had acres of woods and a long hilly field just to. The side if his house. we would wait until it was pitch black out, grab flashlights and run around all year long, yes even in the freezing Canadian winters we would dress up in snow pants and huge jackets just to hide in the snow.

So i’m a 16 year old slightly built male from Colorado. I am very into things involving the supernatural and so I am fairly paranoid. Every year I would go up into the Colorado Rockies and cut wood for my grandparents, I practically lived there i know every part of the eighty acres they had.
They have a wood burning fireplace to keep warm during winter. I and two other family members usually… But this time I came up twice, The second time it was late fall and I was out of school, while my grandparents were enjoying warmth inside I was in the middle of the woods doing some last minute cutting, in the middle of a light snow, I had stopped and decided to eat and listen to a little music while refilling the chain oil.
I didn’t notice it at first but the woods went quiet, with what little wildlife was left. I stopped what i was doing and decided to listen. Huh that’s weird, i say sitting in the bed of the truck, and then that’s when I heard it. It’s hard to give you guys the proper description of it but it sounded like a cross between a black bear and a wolf.

As most of these stories start out here’s a little background information on myself, those involved, and the location where this took place. This event occurred during April, 2016, on a plot of hunting land outside Richland Center, Wisconsin. Richland Center is a small town in the hilly terrain of southwest Wisconsin, with a population of around 5,000 people. The plot of land sat around 15 miles outside the city (exactly where is being kept secret since we don’t want people to go snooping through the woods or breaking into the cabin since it is easy to find). The land was owned by my father’s friend James (obviously not his real name) and was fairly large. Exactly how many acres I don’t know, but a large plot.
The cabin is about twenty yards into a small patch of woods just off the road. Beyond the cabin there is a corn field that sits in the curve of the U shaped woods we use for hunting. There is a ridge that runs across the center of the field sloping down on each side at a steep angle. At the midpoint between the woods and the cabin is a little island of trees that is only about twenty feet in diameter with a deer stand in it. This location will be important later. Now that the background is out of the way I can begin to tell the story of my encounter with what I believe was a Wendigo.
Me, my father, James, another of my father’s friends who I’ll call George, and George’s son who I’ll call Eliot all went up to the cabin to cut firewood for the hunting season. The first day was filled with work in the chilly air of a long winter. We cut down two very large old oak trees on the left side of the U, and hand lost a few large logs in a ravine after they rolled away from us. The work took us up until sunset, since we hadn’t arrived at the cabin until around 1:00 in the afternoon. Eliot and I were down in the ravine carrying the logs up the steep side, and then up the hill to the ATV where we loaded them into a trailer. A total of five logs had to be brought up, each of which weighed nearly seventy pound a piece. After they were all loaded in the trailer and George drove across the corn field, Eliot and I made our way across the field on foot. The sun was just above the hills on the horizon, casting our shadows over the treetops to our left. I scanned the treeline for deer as we walked and saw nothing, and then I noticed something strange. The woods weren’t alive, no squirrels, no woodpeckers, no crows cawing as they always did, not even the trees were swaying. I mentioned it to Eliot but he just brushed it off. We were about to pass the island of trees when I noticed movement in the corner of my eye. Hoping it was a deer I turned my head to see nothing but some barren bushes rustling slightly. I scanned them hard as I continued towards the cabin and saw nothing, but I felt as if there was definitely something there. As I turned away I felt like something was staring a hole in the back of my head so strongly that I had to itch at the spot.

I’d like to start this off by stating that I don’t have much time left. Ever since that day, my paranoia has been growing worse and worse. Local wildlife has began acting strange again, I feel sick more often, and I can never shake the feeling that I am being watched.
It all started about a year ago when I went to a friends house for a party. He had invited me and six other friends to play air soft in his large woods that he owned. We were planning on getting in one long match, eat some pizza and nachos, go out for a night match, and then pull and all-niter playing video games and just having fun in general. Now, sad to say, we don’t have such parties anymore. Or at least, I don’t attend them anymore. Now I lay awake, pointing a shotgun at the door
It was about four in the afternoon with the sun still beating down on us from high above, yet on its way down to go die in the West when this all started. The other six friends and I had all finally shown up to my best friends house for the party. I don’t want to use their real names, so we will call him Bob. Bob is a teenager like me, but about 4 inches shorter and thinner than I. Other than that, we almost look like brothers. “Is that everyone?” Bob asked, doing a quick head count.

So, first of all sorry for any grammar mistakes I make. I am from Lithuania so that’s why.
Let me just say I am a sucker for the paranormal. I have tons of encounters with ghosts, poltergeists, monsters ect…
But this is one of the scariest. I have grandparents. I love them. My mum usually leaves me with them if she is gone for a few days. And one day this happened: I was at my grandparents place and I was home alone. It was at least 8 pm. I was siting on my computer and doing homework. Ya know, all kind of stuff teenagers do. I was going down stairs to get something to drink when I heard… foot steps… not in my house, but outside. And I was scared beacause I watched way to much scary stories tonight. But I didn’t want to a wuss and thought: It’s most likely my neigbours dog or something. So I went back to doing homework.
But what I saw in my window was no dog. It was black and tall. REALLY tall. At least 12 feet. Me-an eleven year old boy, 36 kilograms, 5 feet: there was no way I could fight it. I stared at it for like a minute. But it felt like it was an hour. Then it jumped of the window to my backyard. And then I heard my grandmothers voice: Domas (that’s my name in Lithuanian). Give us a key to the door. We forgot it. I was scared, but realieved. My grandparents came back. I was safe. but then I remembered. My grandparents locked my door. they did have the key.and it was only 8 pm. They were soposed to come back at 9pm.

I am an eagle scout in Ohio, and I do a lot of camping most of the camp outs I go fishing on because it gets me away from the younger scouts. So when this all happened I was at peace until it all went to hell.
The trip was reasonably peaceful, we ate played capture the flag etc, etc. The everyone went to bed exept me I decided to go night fishing with a buddy. So about midnight we head out to a lake about a mile and a half away from the campsite. Thinking nothing of it this seemed routine to us. When we got there we were greeted by the usual crickets frogs and such and we were there for about 45 minutes until this started happening…
First everything went dead quiet, which when you are also an avid Hunter you know this is a bad sign. We start to get a bit of the heebe jeebes of course at that moment we decided to go back to camp. Now this is where things get freaky.
