(Hey everyone, Spades here – It was really awesome to see one of my stories end up in a video, and I’m hoping to maybe even do that again if I can write that well! Thank you for all the support. )
(This story was told to me by JakobLmao on Reddit, and will be told from his point of view from here forth.)
I’ve had a draft of this story set up for a while before I gained the courage to share it. It made me question… everything. My faith, my eyes, my friends, and worst of all, my sanity. I’ve decided it’s time to let someone else know about this, maybe that will help me move on… at least, that’s what I hope. For my sake, and maybe even yours.
I have always been a believer in the paranormal, but only to a certain point. I like to think ghosts are real, but I’ve never had any proof of their existence, so I kept simply being neutral until I had cold hard evidence that the paranormal was a thing.
My boyfriend and I headed out to a state park near us. It’s far enough out so there is no noise or light pollution. It gets dead silent out there at times. You have to drive a few mile out of town. Its nothing but desert and farmland. Not a tree in sight until you reach the park. Once you pull in you can choose whether to go left to the nearest park side or turn right and drive out some more pass the bison to the furthest part.
This was before the park turned public so there was no curfew. So you could stay out there as long as you wanted without getting bothered by the police. It’s a really cool park, it actually has trees and ponds.
It’s a quick get away from life pretty much. Its so quiet and the privacy is nice.
Let me just preface this by saying I was around five or six when this happened. I was an extremely friendly child, naive with a deep love for animals. These were both horrible traits for me to have in the situation I was in. I loved the park and my father took me to one nearby, he did as he usually did and took me to the swingset, he got me started on those and walked to a nearby bench to talk on the phone. I was still visible to him from where I was, so he felt okay with it. I was happily doing my thing on the swingset when my young eyes caught the glimpse of a puppy. A Saint Bernard puppy which was my favorite breed. I instantly got excited and the person walking it seemed normal enough. It was a woman, she looked middle aged. I had been schooled on stranger danger, but I had never heard stories about women being bad strangers. So, I thought it was okay and I got off the swings, running to her. I was excited as I ran over and I asked to play with the puppy. Looking back on it, there were plenty of things that should have been red flags; she seemed nervous, she called me

Looking back on it, there were plenty of things that should have been red flags; she seemed nervous, she called me pretty and was very touchy with me. Brushing over my hair or touching my shoulder, she even rubbed a hand over my thigh, claiming to be “feeling your pretty flowered dress, it looks so soft”. A lot of my mom’s friend’s said similar things, though not as creepily, so I brushed it off. I was rambling on and on about how much I loved dogs and animals in general, I was a very talkative child. She just smiled at me and it made me feel uncomfortable, it reminded me of how the Big, Bad Wolf smiled at Little Red when he was posing as her grandmother.
Now, it’s not much of a story, but it’s believable because of that.
The story doesn’t take place in US like most of the stories here but in southeastern Europe, Croatia to be more precise in city of Dubrovnik. If any of you watch Game of Thrones you can recall the scene of Joffrey’s wedding and the park where the scene of it was took, is the park in which my stories take place.
Now the park isn’t that large at all, in the most isolated place you are probably 2 minutes of walking away from the nearest house, and you can walk trough entire park in 10 minutes, but when it gets dark it can get really creepy.
First story happened probably a bit less than a year ago my girlfriend and me we were walking in the more wooded part of our little park, but still we were 10 seconds from the nearest house. My girlfriend is the easily spooked type of person, so I was making fun of her being scared of this park, she was begging me to go out of it and I assured her we will be out in a minute, when we suddenly heard this, what is best described as a witch’s cackle, like that cliche cackle you hear in kid’s movies. So there was no previous noise of people talking or walking or anything like that, nor did it came from the direction of the houses I mentioned before, it came from the only direction there were no,
I am a 24 year old female from Romania. At the time this event took place, I was 22 and attending a pretty big university in western Romania to get my masters degree. Because it’s a masters program, the lectures take place in the afternoon to late at night.
So on this particular day, my lecture finished at 9pm, on a january night. I lived on campus, pretty close to the university building, about a 10 minute walk. My boyfriend also lived close. So after the lecture finished, I said good bye to my classmates and off I went.
I decided to take a shorter route, through a small park that was situated between the university main building and a church. After that day, i would never walk through that park alone at night…
