I’ve been visiting a friend of mine for the past 6 years in Chicago. he moved from White Plains, CT because of what had happened in his old house. He was 18 and living on his own. He had met me in middle school and was one of most special and trusted friends. One night, we had just finished playing a game on his XBox when he said “Did you hear that?” I listened closely and heard a creaking sound upstairs. I told him “It’s just Cleo.” Then, I saw his dog sleeping next to the sofa.
I suggested calling his parents, but he said they wouldn’t believe it. Ditto with the police. We called a friend of mine who lived near his house to come over. An hour later, all 3 of us were listening to the creaking. Cleo must’ve heard it too. She’s a sweet dog mostly, but as soon as the creaking started, she growled and snarled. I was about to say something about it when we heard a pretty loud CRASH! upstairs. We all ran up and saw a picture of his family in West Virginia lying on the ground in a cracked frame next to a broken lamp.
For the next 4 hours, we kept hearing a commotion upstairs and kept finding things broken. At one point, my friend who lived there got fed up and looked up the history of his house on his laptop. It turns out his house had been built in 1869 by a rich man for his wife. After he died in 1884 from strep throat, his widow said that she always had the feeling she was being watched. She also said he would break anything he didn’t like. So, we had an explanation for some things. The lamp had been working improperly and the picture showed a happy man and wife with their son. My guess was he wanted the house to be nice and he hated the thought of leaving his wife behind.

This experience happened about a week ago, and it is my first paranormal experience.
This happened in my house, which is kind of creepy, because nothing paranormal has ever happened in my house. I always had an interest in the paranormal, but I never thought something like this would happen to me. So, about a week ago I was taking a shower in the bathroom, and I heard a knock. I yelled at the door “whose there?”. No response. I tried again.
No response, just a door flies open, which scares the absolute hell out of me. I was terrified, and this was really scary for me. I turned around since I was naked, but there was nothing there. I shut off the shower right away and put a towel on. But, what happened after that was even scarier.
The shower turned on by itself, and I hurried up to put my clothes on, since my friend was spending the night. I wanted to tell him all about it, which I did, but he didn’t believe me. I told him to take a shower for himself after that. He did, but something even worse happened to him. He got pulled back and hit his head on the shower wall.

My family seems to always have this connection with the paranormal. Ghosts, demons, shadow people, they’ve been through a lot. I guess you inherit this kind of thing because I myself am very sensitive and have had a few paranormal encounters of my own. I’m the kind of person that can get that “nope” vibe from a mile away without even knowing what I’m supposed to be avoiding.
Anyway having said that. My parents are divorced I live with my mom and step dad, but used to have to go visit my biological father. He always seemed to attract bad energy….I was staying with him in some house he’d rented and I really liked that house it was clean, it was spacious, but it had one problem the basement…. Yes just like a horror film what happened down there is the reason, I understand that basements weren’t put in horror films just because someone thought it would be fun. I was fairly young at the time still a preteen, I would go down there to play video games(if you are curious KH and AVP for Ps2).
I guess it wasn’t really your typical basement it had a bathroom, small kitchen, and a little area to sit and watch tv. The first time I went down there I felt fear like someone was intensely watching me, like everywhere I moved it seemed like someone had their eyes wide as possible just watching me angrily. I disregarded it because I was kind of a paranoid kid for obvious reasons. I didn’t listen to my gut as much back then, but that incident is mostly likely one of the reasons I don’t ignore it anymore.

To start, I have been a strong believer in the paranormal since I was a young child. I have childhood stories that I’d like to share at a later time. But for now, I’d like to talk about what happened to me about 10 years ago. I’ve never been more afraid of the other side than that time. I’ve never submitted a story before, but felt that I needed to share about this experience. To share it with people who maybe have experienced some of the same things. It’s a little long, but nonetheless scary.
It was the summer of 2007. My husband, daughter and I had to move from where we were living to a trailer in a very rural community away from my hometown where I grew up. To give you an idea of the area, forest surrounded everything. Our trailer was right next to the only main road. Behind us was a cow field, then 4 other trailers in a line about a half mile away from us. It was a very nice location, and the inside was just what we needed with a 7 year old. But I always had a strange feeling, like something lurking behind my shoulder. I just shrugged it off as being stress from moving away from my hometown to a brand new area.
The activity was very slow and small to start. I would hear small bangs and knocks on the walls and the front door glass, but we had 3 cats, so I thought it could be them. Sometimes I would think the trailer was just “settling”. Then at times I thought it was my daughter, Max, making some of the noises. But she always said she wasn’t. I did believe in the paranormal, but ghosts hadn’t came to my mind. Yet. Then, one night, everything changed.

In my old home town, there are hundreds of legends and ghost stories. A haunted bar downtown, a witch in the park next to a school, a phantom jogger down one road, creatures, specters, you name it, this town had it all. I will admit that I’ve had my fair share of unexplained events living there when I was younger, but nothing can really top my visit to Scaryville.
Scaryville, of course, isn’t the actual name. It has always been called that since I could remember and no one really calls it by it’s real name. Even as children, it had it’s own nursery rhyme:

The story I’m about to tell you might sound like a campfire tale…some twist on an urban legend or something…at least, that’s how it seems whenever I think about it, or tell the story to someone. I can assure you, however, that it is NOT. It happened to me around 16 or 17 years ago, when I was about 18 or 19 (I can’t remember exactly).
I was staying with a friend of mine at his apartment, which is in a small, old building in the downtown area of the small town where I grew up. Next door was a slightly larger, but even older apartment building, and both were owned and operated by the same people.
So one day my friend had to take his rent money to his landlady, who lived in the building next door, and he asked me to join him (I can’t remember why…perhaps he just wanted to introduce me to her??)…so I did.

(This happened a couple of weeks ago) It was 9:30 P.M and I was just getting home from hanging out with a friend. When I entered my house I noticed that my Aunt Jackie was visiting with my cousin Alec, I said “Hello” smiled and waved at them as I walked through the living straight to my room. I was tired and wanted to shower. After my shower I was on my laptop at my desk when I got a knock at the door. It was my brother, he asked if I would go out and throw a football or a frisbee around with him and Alec.
It was late and they would only be allowed to go out if I went with them.
I fought my tiredness and agreed to go with them, at this point it was around 10:40P.M. Keep in mind my brother is nine and my cousin is 14 and I am 19, I know it’s a big age gap between my brother and I, but thats how it’s always been. Anyways, back to us throwing the ball around at the park. After a few rounds of tossing the ball back and forth I got bored and I could tell my brother and Alec were too.

I wouldn’t have thought something with the fictional-sounding name of “the Rain Monster” could actually exist within the local woods.
I was wrong.
Hi, my name is Xander Despenas. I’m 16 years old and live in Mason City, Iowa. My best friend, Hunter Tyler, is 14 (going on 15 on November 4, 2017), and he is the one that discovered the Rain Monster.
You see, the Rain Monster is a paranormal entity that appears normally when it is raining or overcast (hence the name), but does make brief appearances under other circumstances. The strange thing is, we have no idea as to what this thing’s origins are. Perhaps an angry spirit? Or something conjured through a Ouija board? We weren’t too sure then, but now we’re pretty confident that the Rain Monster is something much more demonic, something from the depths of Hell itself. We’ve done multiple investigations regarding this entity, and much to our surprise, a lot of evidence supporting the idea of this thing’s existence has come up in almost all of our documentations.

I was a teenager when this happened, but I can honestly say I remember it like it happened just a few hours ago. My friend, Bailey and I were staying at her house for the weekend. It just happened to be the weekend that her mother decided to do some spring cleaning and clean out their spare bedroom. As teenagers Bailey and I of course were doing more playing with the things we found than cleaning.
Bailey pulled a box out of the closet and held it up, asking her mother what was inside. Her mother snatched the box out of her hands and told her it was a Ouija Board that her aunt had brought home when she lived there. We shrugged it off and went on with our day. Later that night her dad decided we needed to burn some of the things that had been thrown out. The fire was small and burning normally until her mother threw the Ouija Board in it.
What happened next is something I can only describe as unexplainable. The flames of the fire turned blue and the fire flamed up much higher than before. We stood there looking at each other, all a bit shaken but also glad that it was gone. Eventually the fire burned down and we all settled in for bed. Bailey and I were in the den watching a movie when we heard it, something rattling inside one of the boxes that was to go back into storage.

I thought I would share a few of my experiences that have happened over the years. There have been so many paranormal things that have happened but I thought I would share the things that have really caught my attention over the years. Nothing is overly terrifying but the things that have caught my attention at the time were certainly unsettling. For timeline purposes I was born in 1990. Also just a note that this has happened at every place I have lived and has not been linked to a specific location.
I don’t think I really started to notice things actually happening until I was about 14 but when I think back to it there are a few things that seemed off but I never was able to check into it so I can’t really say for sure. So I will start with the first thing that really stood out that got me paying attention to what was happening in the background. It was about 10 pm, I was on the family computer in the office at the bottom of the stairs. My dog was at the top of the stairs outside of my parents’ bedroom.
I remember the air just feeling stagnant.
