Look I apologize for poor grammar in advance but well… I’ve been looking for someone to share this with for awhile. Im also typing this on my phone so again I apologize.
It was 2008 right around May I think. Me my friend “Sam” as well as “Kyle”,”Doug”, and “Fat Kyle”. We were all hanging out at Sam’s house we were all 14 give or take. Well at some point it started getting dark and well the spooky stories started. So after awhile I think it was Doug who said.
“Hey Sam what about that thing you and Kyle saw a few years ago?”

To start, I’d like to give a little description of my where my story took place. I lived in a southwestern Missouri town with the typical middle-of-nowhere feel. The town itself had a population of only 2,000, and it was just big enough to have its own school district. There were about 200 kids total from pre-K to 12th, and we all shared the same campus. The school was divided into high school, junior high, and elementary wings.
I was in junior high at the time. The building that housed us was old and falling apart. It looked as if someone cut a straight hallway out from the main campus and built a breezeway between them. Because of that separation, it was closer to the street than the other wings.
Specifically, I was social studies when the headache-inducing doorbell sound started. We all had been through intruder drills before. Us students packed into the corner and shut off the lights, while the teacher locked the door. She hushed us as we all sat bored and annoyed on the floor. We were, admittedly, being loud.

Hi, my name is Carter, I’m a freshman in high school, and I live in a house that has a huge expanse of forest behind it. I explore these woods behind my house quite often, and I used to make trips through it to get to my ex-girlfriend’s house with ease since I don’t have a car(at the time of this story I was still dating her). Unfortunately, I had an experience that has guaranteed that neither I, nor my ex, will ever set foot in those woods ever again.
This happened over 8th grade summer break.
I left my house around [10:00] to get to hers, it was dark, but I wasn’t worried, I had made the trek many times before, plus, her parents were going on vacation for a week, so I was willing to walk through the forest alone at night if it meant being alone with her for a week.

The following event happened while I was at summer camp, around thirteen years old. My two friends, let’s call them Paige and Julia, attended this camp with me. This was not a sleep-away summer camp, kids only went during the daytime. You would pick three activities during the day to go to, then after those were done you would meet back at your designated pavilion (as kids were separated into age groups) for lunch.
I got off the bus one morning and met with my friends, who told me about how they had a plan for today. We were going to skip one of our activities and go down a secret path that they had found. I agreed, as I wasn’t much of a rebellious kid, but I felt like finally breaking the rules a little. We chose to skip boating, our second activity, and explore the trail. The day went by normally, up until it came time for us to conduct our little plan.
We had waited until we were sure there were no counselors around, then we ducked into the woods, where we soon found the dirt path Paige and Julia had mentioned before. We had walked no more than about 100 feet and I suddenly got the feeling that we were being watched. I convinced myself that it was just my guilty mind and we continued on walking until we reached some benches. Sitting down for a while, I noticed a figure in the distance. Dismissing it, I turned back over to my friends.
