This incident makes me wonder how much better society would be without teenagers. When I was 23 I had just graduated college and was single at the time. So mostly I just spent my time at home watching tv or just relaxing. On this very particular New Year’s Eve I decided to go to 7-11 to purchase some soda and snacks for the upcoming New Years special on tv. So I got what I needed and went to the counter to pay for my items when a group of Hispanic teenagers come inside and start looking around the store suspiciously. I thought nothing of it and walked to my car in no rush when I saw them pointing and laughing at me. I heard words like “ho” and “nerd ass” from those guys targeted at me and I sped up the pace to my car and got inside. I drove away quickly and thought that I was safe and it was just some weird incident. So I went home peacefully and watched the New Years special and at about 2:00 in the morning on New Years I decided to call it a night.
I woke up about 2 hours later to noises in my front yard and lighters being turned on. Being the idiot I was I was too lazy to go check what the commotion was so I just, so I thought “locked the door” and went back to bed. The next morning when I woke up I was curious what was happening all that night so I checked my security footage from the front yard and my heart sank. It was those guys from the gas station smoking pot or whatever it was in MY YARD. But the thing that made my heart skip a beat was about 60 times worse. I realized that when I thought I locked the door I actually unlocked it and in my drunken stage that night I must have been out of my senses. So I saw from the footage those guys entering my house and checking the place out looking room by room. And then came my room. I saw them enter and god knows what they were doing in there because I don’t have cameras in my room, only in the hallways and outside. Then finally after a very hard 5 minutes of viewing this sick footage it showed them finally leaving and going elsewhere. Now I don’t know how they knew where I lived. Maybe they could have followed me home from 7-11 that night without me knowing? I don’t know. Maybe it was a coincidence it was my house they were trying to rob and they didn’t know I was the guy from 7-11? At that point I didn’t care and had enough. I checked the whole house but surprisingly nothing was missing. I settled on not calling the cops because it was probably just some teenagers trying to prank someone. A very dangerous, sick prank. Anyways a couple months later they were in the news because they were caught trying to rob an old lady at gun point. So guys the lesson of this story: please don’t forget to lock your doors all the time and if anything suspicious happens just call the cops. It could end up saving somebody a lot.
